Updates and breeding!

So this season is not going as well as planned. My male super snow seems uninterested in three different females and refuses to mate with them. While its not horrible that I will not have another 10-20 mouths to feed, its been my first season since I have started breeding where I wont see babies hatching. Especially now that I have both this blog and the facebook group to showcase them.

For those interested I will go over some of the reasons why they are not mating:
- We are in August now which is the end of the breeding season for most leos natural cycle. If this is the reason then im SOL and will have to wait till next year.
 - Sometimes leos need to experience winter and spring to get them in the mood. Reducing the temperature for a week or so then going to back normal temps may simulate the natural breeding season. A lot of people do this but I have gotten away with just introducing them towards the beginning of the summer.
- The females just may not be ovulating, shooing him away whenever she suspects he has "ill" intentions.
- Hot females are leos that have been incubated at high temps and have turned out female. These females are aggressive and infertile. Two of my girls are proven breeders and the other has never been mated before so we can rule this out with my first two.

Once again I started this season very late so I may have just missed my chance this year. It wont hurt to keep cycling my females with the male till it starts getting colder out. If I give them a week or so together maybe I will just get lucky and get a few eggs.

Untill I find some eggs you should keep yourself occupied by looking at my current animals in my photobucket :]
